1. Outer Structure of Ram Mandir

The Nagara-style temple spans three floors and is meticulously designed by architects Chandrakant Sompura, Nikhil Sompura, and Ashish Sompura. The construction area covers 70 acres, with the primary temple occupying 2.7 acres, housing five mandapas – Kudu, Nritya, Rang, Kirtana, and Prarthana.

The temple’s dimensions are awe-inspiring: 360 feet in length, 235 feet in width, and 161 feet in height. With 12 gates and a multitude of columns, the foundation stone, laid on 5th August 2020, marked the beginning of this sacred journey.

2. Shape and Style of Ram Mandir

The Mandir boasts a Dome and symmetry-shaped structure, designed in Nagara, Vesara, and Dravida styles. Adhering to Vastushastra and Shilpashastra, it comprises 360 pillars, each stair standing at 16 feet.

3. What is Ram Mandir made of?

The foundation rests on two lakh bricks, each inscribed with “Jai Sri Ram.” Stone from the Banshi mountains in Rajasthan, pink stone from Mirzapur, and three lakh cubic feet of sandstone constitute the temple. A robust foundation, 50 feet deep and 400 feet by 300 feet wide, involves 50 layers of building materials, each 10 inches thick.

4. Interior of Ram Mandir

  • Mandapa: The Nagara-style mandapa in the middle of Garbhagriha.
  • Garbhagriha: A small room for deity placement.
  • Shikhara: An octagonal-shaped Shikhara.
  • Vahana: Lord Ram’s massive statue in a straight line.
  • Idols: The central attraction being Lord Ram, along with the idol found in 1949.
  • Bells: A 2100 kg bell, 6ft tall, and 5ft wide, costing 21 lakhs.
