Karnataka Elections in detail

In the most recent assembly elections in 2018, the BJP won the most seats with 104. However, it was unable to secure enough seats of its own. As a result, a peculiar coalition seems to establish with the Congress (80 members) and JDS (37 seats), where the smaller party JDS was given the position of chief minister.

However, in May 2019, the H.D. Kumaraswamy administration seems to topple. Also, B.S. Yediyurappa of the BJP later took the pledge of office. On July 28, 2021, Basavraj Bommai replaced Yediyurappa as the state’s CM. However, current trends indicate that Basavraj Bommai isn’t as well-liked as the previous chief minister Yediyurappa, the major leader of the organization in the state at the age of 80.

Let’s evaluate the birth charts of Basavraj Bommai, Yediyurappa, Kumaraswamy, and D.K. Shivkumar in light of the aforementioned context to assess the chances of the three prominent parties in the forthcoming Karnataka Assembly elections in 2023.

Basavraj Bommai

Basavraj Bommai was born in Hubli, Karnataka, on January 28, 1960 at 12:06 AM. The horoscope for the current chief minister of Karnataka, Basavraj Bommai, is an Aries Ascendant. The greatest Raja Yoga for people born with this ascendant is the conjunction or opposition of the Sun and Moon. A significant Raja Yoga forms between the 5th house Lord, Sun, and the 4th house ruler, Moon in the tenth house, the house of power.

The placement of each of the planets on one side of the Rahu-Ketu axis in his chart is intriguing. Many astrologers interpret it as the Kaal-Sarpa Yoga. However, it looks like his Dosha is not as strong as it looks. Hence, in Karnataka’s BJP state administration from 2008 to 2013, when he was under the Shani Mahadasha, Basavraj Bommai served as a minister.

Saturn is in the ninth house of fortune in the Kundli, together with Mars, the ascendant ruler, and Jupiter, the 9th house lord. Also, Saturn and Mars in Yogakaraka are in conjunction with the Navamsha. Saturn and Jupiter, the fifth lord, are in a mutual aspect in Dashamsha.

On July 28, 2021, during his Saturn Dasha and Rahu Antardasha, Basavraj Bommai became the chief minister of Karnataka. Venus and Jupiter, two natural benefics, are present with Saturn, who is in the ninth house as the ruler of the tenth house of power. However, Saturn, the ruler of the Moon Mahadasha, falls in the 12th house, which is bad.

Dasha creating difficulty in the elections for Basavraj Bommai

Moreover, the Ketu sub-subperiod currently affecting his life from 2 March to May 2, 2023, just in time for the assembly elections. Ketu is in the 12th house, the house of loss; which is quite negative. Therefore, Basavraj Bommai, the CM, is now not benefiting from the Dasha time or transit. It could harm his chances of being the chief minister again.

B.S. Yediyurappa

B.S. Yediyurappa was born in Mandya, Karnataka, on February 27, 1943, at 3:00 AM. B.S. Yediyurappa, 80 years old, is the BJP’s most powerful leader in the state of Karnataka. He worked hard for the farmers during his time as chief minister.

However, he was also accused of corruption and spent time in jail. He was appointed chief minister four times, although he never served out his whole term. Additionally, he was three times elected opposition leader. He accomplished such milestones alone among BJP leaders in South India.

Thus, in his Sagittarius Ascendant chart, Mars governs the first house, the fifth house lord. However, Jupiter, the ascendant house ruler, makes a favorable Raja Yoga.

Will his chances shine in the elections in 2023?

The traditional ‘Unmaad Yoga’ makes a mutual opposition which could make him uneasy in his role as chief minister. In Moon Mahadasha that began in December 2012, he tried to build his party but was unsuccessful. Thus, he rejoined the BJP. Mars Dasha is favorable for Yediyurappa.

On December 14, 2022, the Mars Dasha began in his chart. As it is, its full results in its own Dasha and Antardasha, which is currently running till May 12. Therefore, it shall bring him many significant successes. From May 12 to May 30, 2023, to 2024, Yediyurapp shall secure a significant position, such as a seat in the Rajya Sabha or a key post within the BJP.

Rahu is in the ascendant ninth house, and the zodiac lord of its tenth house, the Moon, is making an aspect to it. In Navamsha, Rahu is well in the first house with the 10th house ruler Saturn and the 9th house lord, Jupiter.

Also, take note that the Saturn transit from Yediyurappa’s fourth house makes an unfavorable “Kantaka-Shani” Gochar. His natal Sun closely watches the moving Saturn from Aquarius. Moreover, Ketu also indicates potential health issues.

H.D. Kumaraswamy

H.D. Kumaraswamy was born in Hassan, Karnataka, on December 16, 1959, at 06:08 PM. The positioning of Mercury, Mars, plus Jupiter in the sixth house is the most notable aspect of H.D. Kumaraswamy’s Gemini ascendant Kundli. Waxing Moon in the 1st house is the only favorable planet in Kendra. He is currently undergoing Ketu Mahadasha and Jupiter Antardasha, which will last from September 15, 2022, to August 22, 2023.

Sun’s sub-subperiod would be from April 27, 2023, to May 14, 2023. His Dashamsha lord Ketu is in the eighth house of his Dashamsha Kundli. Jupiter, the ruler of the Antardasha, is debilitated in the Navamsha. Moreover, it places itself in the sixth house of his Kundli. However, Jupiter’s position in Aries around the time of the polls indicates that his party will perform satisfactorily. Thus, makes him a could-be a candidate for CM in the Karnataka elections in 2023.

D.K. Shiv Kumar

D.K. Shiv Kumar was born in Kanakpur, Karnataka, on May 15, 1961 at 05:15 AM. In Karnataka, D.K. Shiv Kumar is now in charge of the state’s congress party. There must be a favorable Mahadasha in his birth chart if Congress regains state control. If the Congress wins the upcoming assembly elections, he is one of the candidates for CM or deputy chief minister. Raja Yoga of the 4th house ruler, Moon, and the 5th house ruler, Sun in the second house of money.

Saturn-Venus Mahadasha for D.K. Shiv Kumar could be his successful time

His ascendant house lord Mars is in the fourth house. Moreover, it shares an aspect with Saturn, the tenth house lord. Ahead, Jupiter, the ninth house lord makes a significant Raja Yoga. Currently, from November 2021 to January 2025, he is in a fortunate Saturn Dasha and Venus Antardasha era.

So, when Venus becomes exalted in the twelfth house of the Rashi chart as the 2nd and 7th house ruler. Moreover, it is firmly positioned in the ninth house of his Dasmasha horoscope is of utmost significance.

As per the predictions, his career can advance significantly during the Mahadasha or Antardasha of the planet that rules the Dasmasha ascendant. Sun may be in a ministerial position in the new Karnataka administration due to the fortunate sub-sub term he was in around the time of the election outcomes in May.
