When to hold the Grand Celebration?

This year Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated on both 18th and 19th of August; but the fast will be observed on the 19th of August. This is because according to many pronounced astrologers, The Ashtami tithi will be Udaya tithi on 19th of August.

Rohini nakshatra under which lord Krishna was born is not falling on Ashtami tithi this year.

What to eat for fasting on the day of Janmashtami?

Quite similar rules are applied on the food recipes of Janmashtami as of Navratri.

So, now let’s take a look at food items that you can consume during your Janmashtami fast.

  1. Sabudana khichdi
