Janmashtami 2022, Known with different names of Krishnashtami, Krishna Jayanti, Gokulashtami, Yadukula Ashtami, Srikrishna Jayanti, the grand festival of Janmashtami marks the birth anniversary of lord Krishna.

This year Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated on both 18th and 19th of August; but the fast will be observed on the 19th of August. This is because according to many pronounced astrologers, The Ashtami tithi will be Udaya tithi on 19th of August.
Rohini nakshatra under which lord Krishna was born is not falling on Ashtami tithi this year.
