This program was executed by the <strong>Indian Research Space Organization<\/strong>. National Lunar Mission Task Force concluded that ISRO have skills and expertise to take things forward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2003, over 100 different departments of Indian scientists within the field of Earth Sciences, chemistry, astronomy, physics, space sciences and planetary came and mutually agreed for the space program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After discussions,&nbsp;six months later the Indian government agreed over the same. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Aim\"><\/span><strong>The Aim-<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Aim for launching the Chandrayaan program was to create,&nbsp;configure and dispatch an India-made-launch-machine, around the moon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another purpose of launching this program involves conducting scientific experiments by the spacecraft to derive images and three-dimensional atlas of the near and far sides of the moon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These scientific experiments also gave data of the extent of aluminum, magnesium, silicon, iron, calcium, thorium, uranium, radon and titanium elements of the entire lunar surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"532\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/astrotalk.in\/astrology-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Will-Chandrayaan-2-be-successful.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/astrotalk.com\/astrology-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Will-Chandrayaan-2-be-successful.png 532w, https:\/\/astrotalk.com\/astrology-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Will-Chandrayaan-2-be-successful-300x188.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 532px) 100vw, 532px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Instruments_used_in_the_Spacecraft\"><\/span><strong>Instruments used in the Spacecraft-<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Combined with five different technological Indian instruments and six instruments of various countries gave the scientific payload a weight of 90 kg. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indian instruments included a <strong>Terrain Mapping Camera<\/strong>, aiming at deriving high-resolution images and map of the moon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Second instrument involved <strong>Hyper Spectral Imager<\/strong>, which aimed at extracting mineralogical mapping by spectral resolution and a spatial resolution of the moon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lunar Lasor Ranging<\/strong> Instrument, which aimed at depicting the moon\u2019s surface topography by transporting pulses to the targeted region of the lunar surface and detecting the region reflected by the pulses.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>High Energy aj\/gamma x-ray spectrometer<\/strong>,which gave ground resolution\u2019s measurements and various radioactive elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last and not the least is the <strong>Moon Impact Probe<\/strong>, which gave the scientists a video imaging system of the moon\u2019s lunar surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instruments from other countries involved X-ray&nbsp;fluorescence spectrometer, for mapping the measurement of the amount of titanium, calcium, silicon, and aluminum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>Moon Mineralogy Mapper<\/strong> was designed to image the outline of the surface mineral composition. The spacecraft was monitored by (ISTRAC) at&nbsp;Peenya&nbsp;in&nbsp;Bangalore..&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chandrayaan 1 accomplished its first lunar orbit turn on 8 November 2008 (11:21 UTC). Indian spacecraft revolved around the lunar space for around 11 hours becoming the fifth nation to have a spacecraft in the lunar space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Success_of_Chandrayaan_1\"><\/span><strong>Success of Chandrayaan 1-<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Considering certain parameters, Chandrayaan 1 was successful. Since after this space-mission, Indian scientists were able to extract the mineral mapping by using Moon\u2019s mineralogy Mapper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using multiple payloads, the instruments were able to track down mapping landing sites on Apollo Moon Missions. By this time duration, the spacecraft was able to capture around 70,000 images of the moon\u2019s surface. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>C1XS X-ray camera<\/strong> detected the x-ray sign of magnesium, aluminum and silicon. The camera enabled scientists to track the presence of these elements on the lunar surface. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Duration the mission duration,the spacecraft was also able to capture images showcasing continents like Asia,&nbsp;Australia and parts of Africa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chandrayaan 1 also enabled scientists to study about the interaction between moon and the solar winds. Indian Space Research Organization is taking another initiative to launch to the&nbsp;Moon&nbsp;by a&nbsp;Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark III.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This time by more advanced instruments, the Indian Organization intends to land a rover near the north pole. Thus planning to a much smoother landing between the two&nbsp;craters, i.e., Simpelius N and Manzinus C, 70 degrees north. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apprehensively, this time the two senior-most women scientists&nbsp;will take charge of the mission. <strong>Ritu Karidhal <\/strong>and <strong>Muthayya Vanitha <\/strong>plan to execute the <strong>ISRO <\/strong>mission this time. Chandrayaan 2 will launch by July 22, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apprehensively, this time the two senior-most women scientists will take charge of the mission.
