He also established the <em>\u2018Khalsa Panth\u2019<\/em>, giving this community a unique identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was on this day that <strong>Guru Gobind Singh <\/strong>ended the genealogy of the Gurus. After this, the people who follow <strong>Sikhism <\/strong>made <strong>Guru Grant Sahib <\/strong>their guide. Also, it was on this day that Sikhs accepted their surnames as \u2018<em>Singh<\/em>\u2019 for male and \u2018<em>Kaur<\/em>\u2019 for female.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, Guru Gobind Singh Ji sprinkled holy water on the first five disciples and eliminated the difference between low and high. People wake up early in the morning and visit Temples\/Gurudwaras on this special day to express their gratitude towards God. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This day also marks the beginning of a new year for Punjabis. People celebrate Vaisakhi by performing an energetic dance, Bhangra, and Gidda and putting up Baisakhi fairs.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, Indian farmers also celebrate the festival of <strong>Baisakhi<\/strong>&nbsp;in various parts of India. The purpose behind is to thank the spiritual power for the plenteous harvest of the winter crops (Rabi crops) and to seek blessings for the upcoming agricultural season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> All Indians acknowledge this auspicious festival under different names and rituals. People celebrate it as &#8216;<em>Rongali Bihu<\/em>&#8216; in Assam. Also as &#8216;<em>Naba Barsha<\/em>&#8216; in Bengal. Further on as &#8216;<em>Pooram Vishu<\/em>&#8216; in Kerala. There\u2019s <strong>Vishakha <\/strong>constellation in the sky on this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because <strong>Vishakha Nakshatra <\/strong>is formed on a full moon day, this month is known as a month of <strong>Vaishakh<\/strong>. The first day of this month has been called Vaisakhi. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On this day, the Sun enters into \u2018<em>Mesha Rashi<\/em>\u2019 (Aries horoscope) and Hindus celebrate this day as \u2018<em>Mesha Sankranti<\/em>\u2019.
