Lata Ji: Nightingale by Voice, King Maker by kundli

The legend, Lata Mangeshkar, for whom the description playback singer is something of an understatement, passed away on Sunday. She was 92. Ms Mangeshkar was fighting COVID when her health deteriorated on Saturday. She was taken to the intensive care unit where she took her last breath, thus leaving a void in the cultural-might of the country.

In a career spanning almost eight decades, Lata Ji worked in thousands of songs in as many as 36 languages. She was a recipient of the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, Dadasaheb Phalke and even the highest civilian honour of France.

Ms Mangeshkar, who belonged to a prominent musical family, also composed music as well as produced a handful of films. She was popularly known as the ‘Nightingale of India.

Lata Mangeshkar Kundli: What made Lata Ji a legend like no other?

Lata Mangeshkar Date of Birth: Sept 28, 1929.

Time of Birth: Unknown.

Place of Birth: Indore.

As per Lata Mangeshkar’s Kundli, she was blessed to have a Mercury as an Atmakaraka. This is what made her very genius and efficient in her work. Meanwhile, the divine Jupiter was in her Amatyakaraka and made her prosperous with knowledge and wisdom.

For anyone who doesn’t know what an Atmakaraka or Amatyakaraka is, Atmakaraka is a word used to denote King and Amatyakaraka, on the other hand, is the advisor to the King. And history has it that the advisor to the King has always been more powerful and visionary than the King, just like Lata Ji was.

A combination of Jupiter (one of the most influential planets in astrology) and the Amatyakaraka aspect of it is something that drove Lata Ji’s inspiring, legendary and incomparable career. Further, her artistic acumen was enhanced by a strong Taurus in her Kundli, which is a sign of artistic talent and creativity.

Today, Lata Ji, though not with us, will always be remembered for her contributions in making the 90s a culturally rich period that can be compared with no other. We and the coming generations will remember her as a stalwart of Indian culture, and hopefully, keep learning from 1000s of memories she has left with us in the form of her enchanting songs.

Om Shanti!
