Navratri 2023: Navratri Nine Days Bhog For Mata Durga

Navratri, a nine-night Hindu festival dedicated to Goddess Durga, is celebrated with immense devotion and enthusiasm across India. During this auspicious time, devotees offer a variety of bhog (food offerings) to seek the blessings of the divine mother. These nine days symbolize the triumph of good over evil and are celebrated with great zeal.

Day 1 – Pratipada:

On the first day of Navratri, devotees offer Shailputri Devi bhog. She is the embodiment of the Himalayas, symbolizing purity and strength. Devotees offer pure cow’s milk, fruits, and sweets as bhog to seek blessings for a strong and healthy life.

Day 2 – Dwitiya:

On the third day, devotees pay homage to Chandraghanta Devi, the goddess who represents peace and bravery. Milk-based kheer and sweets are offered as bhog to invoke inner strength.

Day 4 – Chaturthi:

Kushmanda Devi, the creator of the universe, is worshipped on the fourth day. Devotees offer malpua (pancakes) and saffron milk as bhog to receive her blessings for a prosperous life.

Day 5 – Panchami:

Skandamata Devi, the mother of Lord Kartikeya, is revered on the fifth day. Bananas and honey are offered as bhog to seek protection and courage.

Day 6 – Shashti:

Katyayani Devi, the warrior goddess, is worshipped on the sixth day. Devotees offer honey and fruits as bhog to gain strength and overcome obstacles.

Day 7 – Saptami:

On the seventh day, devotees pay homage to Kalratri Devi, the destroyer of darkness and ignorance. Jaggery-based sweets and coconut are offered as bhog for protection from negativity.

Day 8 – Ashtami:

Maha Gauri Devi, the goddess of purity and serenity, is revered on the eighth day. Coconut and freshly made puris (fried bread) are offered as bhog to attain inner peace.

Day 9 – Navami:

On the final day of Navratri, Siddhidatri Devi, the bestower of supernatural powers, is worshipped. Devotees offer sesame seeds and sweets as bhog to receive her blessings for spiritual growth.
