In a dreamy Malayali wedding in Goa, Mouni Roy recently tied the knot with Dubai-based entrepreneur Suraj Nambiar. But wait, that’s something you already know, right?
So we are really not here to discuss the wedding as such, but the fashion trends that Mouni touched at her Goa wedding. After all, that is one source of inspiration for all of us to plan our wedding, right?

Mouni Roy is known for her fashion sense and ethnic roots, and her Sabyasachi bridal wear was a representation of it. Mouni, for her south Indian wedding, dressed in a white Kasavu sari with red and golden borders, paired with a red blouse with golden brocade work.
In fact, the highlight of her look was the Temple Jewellery she wore on her special day. For the unaware, Temple jewellery, which first originated in the Chola and Pandya dynasties, is a kind of ethnic jewellery, which is designed in various forms of Gods and Goddesses. Temple jewellery has a rich tradition in the south. The whole collection includes haar and a choker necklace, matha patti, and a kamar bandh. Mouni further refined the bridal style by donning an elegant bun with a cascading braid, adding a gajra to it.

Meanwhile, the groom was dressed in a cream coloured kurta with golden booti and a traditional white and gold-bordered mundu. Later, the couple also tied in the knot in a Bengali-themed wedding.

Mouni’s wedding was a private affair attended by the likes of Mandira Bedi, Ekta Kapoor and more. Former television actor and Indian politician Smriti Irani also wished the newly-married couple.
