Houses responsible for marriage in astrology

Lagna (also known as the 1st house), 7th house, 2nd house, 5th house, 11th house, and the 12th house are very important houses concerning astrology. Now let us understand the importance of these houses.

  • Lagna: This house represents the native and his or her personality.
  • 7th house: It illustrates the opposite sex, in this case, husband or wife.
  • 2nd house: It is the Kutumba sthana or house of the family.
  • 5th house: This house mainly takes charge of love and relationships.
  • 11th house: This house in the natal chart depicts long-term bonding or relationships.
  • 12th house: It is the Vyaya and Moksha sthana. It is the house of expenditure and Moksha.

When making predictions, astrologers consider the above houses and their lords for marriage.

For example—

When Lagna connects with the 7th house, the native will connect with the person of the opposite sex. When it connects through the 5th house, the native will fall with each other. But if somehow the connection establishes with the 11th house, they will have a long-term relationship.

When their 2nd house also gets connected, it turns into marriage with the approval of members of both families. Please note, if the 8th and 12th house has malefic planets, then there are chances that they will have a short married life.

Marriage in astrology: Kuja Dosha and impact of Mars in different houses

Among all planets, Mars is considered the most active planet. It represents courage, vitality, self-confidence, willpower, and energy when placed in a good position. However, if Mars is in a negative house, it causes aggression, irritation, anger, volatile temper, conflicts, domination, etc.

So, what is Kuja dosha?

When Mars placement occurs in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house of the native’s chart, it is a Kuja dosha. When Mars is in the 4th or 12th house, the effect of Mars is minimal. So, you can ignore it and consider it a weak or fever Kuja Dosha.

Now let us understand the effects of Mars in a few important houses:

Mars in first house or Lagna

Mars in the first house creates strong Kuja dosha and issues in married life or relationships. People with Mars in this house are prone to mental pressure or distress. As a result, they are easily angered, harsh or rude, have unpleasant behavior, ignorant of the pains and sorrows of others, etc.

Mars in the second house

As we discussed earlier, the 2nd house represents Kutumba Sthana. So, if Mars is present in the 2nd house, it creates unnecessary disagreements in the family. Also, it may cause unhappiness in married life due to family issues.

Mars in the seventh house

The 7th house is known for the opposite sex. So, if Mars is present in the 7th house, then the partner may easily get angry, harsh, or rude. Also, your partner may have an unpleasant behavior, be ignorant of the pains and sorrows of others, etc.

Mars in the eighth house

The 8th house is directly opposite the 2nd house. So, if Mars placement occurs in the 8th house, it aspects directly the 2nd house. Also, it may cause distress and unhappiness in the family and married life.

Marriage in astrology: Other reasons for unhappy married life

Saturn is also an important reason for unhappy marital life apart from Kuja Dosha. Saturn does not cause disturbance in life directly. However, if it gets placed along with Mars of Rahu and or aspecting Mars of Rahu, it will increase the disturbances in Married life.

If the placement of Saturn occurs in the 2nd, 7th, or 8th house. And the same gets aspected by Mars, a strong dosha forms in a person’s natal chart. If Mars placement occurs in the Lagna or Kendra Sthana, it affects the person, mentality, and behavior. However, if Saturn gets along with Mars in this house, the person will act as a dictator. Also, it will dominate others in every aspect.
