Chaitra Navratri 2020 Start And End Date

Each day in Navratri, devotees worship nine forms of Maa Durga in a systematic manner. Significantly, those who observe fasting for nine days in Navratri, perform the ritual of Kalash Sthapana on the first day. On Ashtami, they perform the ritual of Kanya Pujan in which they touch the feet of young girls and offer them Navratri special food.

At the same time, Mahanavami of Chaitra Navratri is also known as Ramnavami. Lord Rama was born on this day.

Navratri Vrat Vidhi

During Navratri, purity of the soul is the primary to seek the blessing of Goddess Durga.

Devotees who wish to observe fast on Navratri should maintain the purity of the body as well as the soul.

The fast begins with the sunrise on the day of Kalash Sthapna and ends on Dashmi. Meanwhile, any person who observes fast is allowed to eat fruits, milk, curd, Sabudana, Kuttu atta, etc. They cannot eat grains and salt.
