Hindus celebrate this festival as the day of Shree Radha Rani’s appearance. This day comes 15 days after Shree Krishna Janmashtami, on Ashtami Tithi of Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha. She is worshipped as the divine incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi and the soul (Hladini Shakti) of Lord Krishna.
As per tradition, this festival is celebrated during Madhyana (Midday), which is believed to be an auspicious window of her divine appearance.
