Daily horoscopes are an important part of many people’s daily lives. We see this astrology content on television, in newspapers, and on different websites. However, you might have noticed that the horoscope of the same zodiac sign sometimes differs across websites. In this situation, it’s natural to wonder: which predictions are correct, and which should you trust most? These differences come from astrological calculations, planetary movements, and positions. Let’s understand why horoscope predictions differ across websites.
Today’s horoscope for all 12 zodiac signs is prepared based on either the Sun sign or the Moon sign. This is considered one of the main reasons for differences in predictions across websites. Western astrologers and some modern websites prepare horoscopes based on Sun signs, and in this method, the date and month of birth are considered important.
On the other hand, Indian Vedic astrology mainly prepares predictions based on the Moon sign. It considers the zodiac sign in which the Moon was placed at the time of birth. One of the main reasons for differences across websites can be because one website may have followed the Moon sign method, while another one may have followed the Sun sign method. In these two astrological systems, there is a difference in the calculation of planetary positions of around 23 to 24 degrees.
You can also use the Moon Sign Calculator to find your Moon sign and explore your daily horoscope accordingly.
For instance, just like two doctors may prescribe different medicines to treat the same patient, different astrologers prepare today’s horoscope based on their own experience, views, and understanding of planetary influences.
If you want to understand how planetary positions may affect your day, then you can talk to an astrologer to get personalised guidance based on your birth chart.
There are different types of Panchang, such as Drik Panchang, Martand Panchang, and more. Different Panchangs may have some differences in their calculations of planetary transits and positions. For example, if the calculated time of a planet changing signs differs, one website may include the effect of that transit in today’s horoscope, while another may include it in the next day’s horoscope. These small differences may be one reason why horoscopes may vary from website to website.
Just as two people may use different methods to complete the same task, astrologers also use different systems and rules to prepare daily horoscopes. The main prediction methods include the Parashari system, Jaimini system, Nakshatra Nadi, and other house systems. Astrologers choose a method based on their preferences, which can lead to differences in predictions across different websites.
The positions of planets and stars remain the same, but astrologers may view and analyse them differently when preparing horoscopes for their website. For example, if Mars and Rahu are placed together in a zodiac sign, one astrologer may consider it Angarak Dosh and advise you to be careful. While another astrologer may focus on the strong position of Mars and predict an energetic day for you.
Differences in horoscopes across websites can make people confused about which prediction to trust. Millions of people live across the world, while horoscopes are divided into just 12 zodiac signs. Therefore, you can treat your daily horoscope as a general indication, and you use it to plan your day accordingly.
